Aga's life changed when she lost her husband, and then, within 14 months, her son, Kurush. She knows what she is talking about. Forced to take over as the executive chairperson of Thermax after her husband Rohinton's sudden death in 1996. Anu married Rohinton Aga, a Harvard-educated entrepreneur who later partnered her father in their engineering company, Wanson Engineering. She majored in economics from St Xavier's College and did her postgraduation in social work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
Aga hired the consultancy firm, Boston Consulting, and sought advice on ways to turn it around. She supervised the makeover of the company, pruning the employee strength, reconstituting the board of directors, and bringing in a new work ethic. It wasn't long before the company started growing.

Anu Aga was born in Bombay, India on 3rd August 1942. She began her industry career in Thermax in 1985 and later was in charge of the Company's human resources function from 1991 to 1996. After her husband Rohinton Aga passed away, the Board appointed her as the Executive Chairperson of the Thermax Group in February 1996, and two years later became non-executive Chairperson.
